2025 Chokka Trail Run date!
The annual and very popular Chokka Trail Run will this year take place on Women’s Day, Saturday 9 August 2025.
All distances will start and finish at the Cape St Francis Resort, the ideal host venue, as you can stay in bed as long as possible before your race, and there are two restaurants to cater for all your nutritional needs.
The routes cover the greater St Francis Area, with the 62km going all the way to Oyster Bay. We offer a 62km, 42km, 23km and 10km.
The 62km starts first, all along Shark Point to Port St Francis and the St Francis Field before heading into Thula Moya and the Eskom Reserve. Once past the water point just before Dune Ridge Country House, you will enter the peaceful conservation reserve heading for Oyster Bay. Just before Oyster Bay you will find the road into the famous 15km Sand River dune field, following your instinct for the first 7km before you meet up with the 42km runners from where flags mark the way to the exit of the dune field.
Once back at the waterpoint, you will now turn right, run past the guest house and into the coastal forest. One more dune field before you hit the road down to Mostertshoek and the last 7km of beautiful coastline to the Seal Point Lighthouse and the Cape St Francis Resort.
The 42km runners will start shortly after the ultras, following the same route however they will turn into the Sand River after running 6km into the conservation Reserve, heading back to the Resort.
The 23km runners will run down the Mostertshoek Road once through St Francis Field, heading back to the Resort, while the 10km runners will run their own route through the Irma Booysen Flora Reserve and Rocky before heading back past the Seal Point Lighthouse.
Prize giving for the 10km and 23km is at 10h30 and for the marathon and ultra marathon 13h30. All participants receive finisher medals.
